Went over to help my friend change out his cracked front subframe for a good used one. One of the bolts holding it to the frame rail broke off.
Went to Home Depot, got an extractor set and cobalt drill bits.
Went to another friend’s place to borrow a butane torch and vise grips that neither of us had for some reason.
Despite fire, penetrating fluid, bolt extractor, etc. That bolt is very much staying put. We gave up for the day, I think the new plan is to just drill it out, but there was no point getting into that until we got a tap set. Fun stuff.
Bonus photos of the car before the subframe cracked and it got parked for the winter.
Extra bonus photo of my other friends neon blue vert with like 39k kms on it or something crazy like that

last few times i changed/repaired a subframe 2 bolts snapped and i tried everything to get them out, eventually i just drilled it out and re taped it. from then on i never bother fighting them i just go straight for the drill.

Yeah it is very blue. When he runs different wheels that aren’t also blue, it looks better
